核心词汇Keep用法小结

1.keep及物动词，keep +n.。

例：keep a seat

意思是：留个座位。

再比如，可以说keep the money，意思是存钱。

也就是说，在这里keep也保留，存下的意思。

2.及物动词,有遵守的意思。

如：keep the law. 意思是守法，遵守法律。

keep the words.说话算话。

He is a man who always keeps his words. 他是一个说话算数的人。

3.vt.keep还有赡养，饲养的意思。

如 keep dogs pigs and so on.养狗养猪等等。

keep the family 养家。

4. 及物动词，意为“（暂时）保管、（暂时）存放、保存、保留”等，有时也可以表示“借”的意思。如：

Please keep the dictionary well. 请好好地保存这本词典。

5. keep 用作及物动词常用句型为“ keep+ 宾语 + 宾语补足语”，意为“使……保持某种状态”，可分为以下三种情况：

① keep+ 宾语 + 形容词 / 副词。如：

Please keep the door and window open. 请把门窗开着。

②keep+ 宾语 + 介词短语。如：

Please keep your hands behind your back. 请把手放在背后。

③. Keep+ 宾语 +V-ing 形式。如：The old woman keeps on standing there still. 那老太太一直站在那里，一动也不动。(keep+宾语+ V-ing= keep on+V-ing 形式)

Dont keep them working day and night. 不要让他们不分白天黑夜的工作。

He keeps doing homework。他一直在做作业。

She kept washing until he came. 她一直洗衣服直到他回来。

She kept him walking for an hour. 她让他步行一小时。

He kept himself running for half an hour, 他让自己跑步半小时。

6.keep sb from doing sth.

意思是阻止某人做某事。 比如，可以说：keep him from smoking。阻止他抽烟。

7.keep用作不及物动词。

Will this fish keep until tomorrow？ 这条鱼可以保存到明天吗？

keep quiet.保持安静

keep smile 保持微笑

keep silence 保持沉默

keep happy 保持快乐

8. keep 用作连系动词时，与后面的形容词构成系表结构，意为“保持某种状态”。如：

You must look after yourself and keep healthy. 你一定要照顾自己，保持身体健康。
